The optional online application upload

The online application photo upload is facultatif et distinct de la photo physique. Its conditions are 35 x 45 mm, JPEG, and jusqu'à 300 KB — separate from the printed photo you bring in person.

Items the official guidance does not specify

The official guidance sets no numeric period for “recent”, no pose or face-geometry rule, no pixel dimensions or DPI, no extra file conditions, and no photographer requirement for the printed photo.

Before submission

  • Prepare 35 x 45 mm, couleur, fond blanc, and une photo for the in-person route.
  • Keep the photo récente (la source officielle ne précise pas de période chiffrée) and bring it to the visa counter.
  • If using the online upload, keep it as a separate artifact from the printed photo.
