Preparing a face photo

Face photo requirements

The photo standard for identity documents issued by the authority (including the residence permit / leidimas gyventi) is defined on the Lithuanian Migration Department (Migracijos departamentas prie VRM) page "Nuotraukų asmens dokumentams pavyzdžiai". For the residence permit application, the IOM handbook states "1 nuotrauka (40 x 60 mm)" (one 40 x 60 mm photo).

The Lithuania Schengen visa (one 35×45 mm photo) is a separate application within the same country, with different photo values. The national visa (D) has its own photo requirements, which are not covered on this page. Creating, printing, arranging on the sheet, cutting, and submitting the photos remain the applicant's own actions (this tool prepares the print photos only and does not submit on your behalf).

What to check before you submit

The phrase “passport-size” alone does not set a fixed value such as 35×45 mm. In the Tool, enter the dimensions shown by the current application guidance.

From creation to submission

  • Keep the application guidance available and enter the output type and dimensions you have confirmed.
  • No face guide is shown for values the official guidance does not specify.
  • After editing and review, confirm the accepted format and conditions in the application portal before submitting.
