Photo requirements

The photo size, format, and background conditions for the application.

The WHP document line requires an ICAO-compliant biometric photo; the size follows the same authority (Austrian Embassy Tokyo), which publicly defines the ICAO format as "Farbe, 35x45 mm": 35 x 45 mm (width x height), colour.
The required number of photos is 1 photo ("ein aktuelles Passbild im ICAO-Format").
A blue background is not allowed ("kein blauer Hintergrund"). The officially permitted background colour is not specified.
A neutral facial expression is officially required.
Recency is given only as "aktuell" (current), with no month figure. Face geometry, DPI, and pixels are not stated on the official pages.
