Preparing a face photo

Face photo requirements

For the Austria Working Holiday Programme (WHP, fee-free, participation limited to twice for Japan), the Visum D with the "WHP" annotation is lodged in person at the Austrian Embassy in Tokyo (Tokyo only, not VFS) by e-mail appointment, with the paper form signed by hand.

No digital upload scheme is mentioned anywhere on the official pages. This tool prepares the print photo only; the application remains the applicant's own action. The Austria Schengen C visa (35×45 mm print, plain light background, 6 months, VFS accepted) is a separate application, and its photo values do not apply to the WHP.

What to check before you submit

The phrase “passport-size” alone does not set a fixed value such as 35×45 mm. In the Tool, enter the dimensions shown by the current application guidance.

From creation to submission

  • Keep the application guidance available and enter the output type and dimensions you have confirmed.
  • No face guide is shown for values the official guidance does not specify.
  • After editing and review, confirm the accepted format and conditions in the application portal before submitting.
