Photo requirements at a glance
- One photograph is required for the application. The count is stated in both the government decree and the OIF factsheet.
- The authority publishes no photo dimensions in millimetres, no background colour, and no recency period. Neither the decree text nor the OIF factsheet (EN/HU) states them. Third-party sites may claim "two 35×45 mm photos"; the official count is one.
- For paper / in-person applications, one photograph is enclosed with the application. Via Enter Hungary (EH) the face photo can be uploaded, and admission is conditioned on the fee being paid and the facial photograph, fingerprint, and signature specimen being recorded within 15 days — this on-site biometric recording is a separate step from the attached photograph.
Face photo requirements
The Hungary White Card is a residence permit for digital nomads administered by the OIF (National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing) and is a separate scheme and route from the study visa at the Tokyo embassy (35×45 mm print), the Enter Hungary digital photo (residence permit extension), and Schengen C Hungary. This page covers only the photo enclosed with the White Card application.
The enclosed photo is prepared by the applicant, while the on-site biometric recording at submission (for the biometric residence document; fingerprints for applicants over six) is captured by the authority. The tool prepares the print photo only and does not submit the application on your behalf.
What to check before you submit
The phrase “passport-size” alone does not set a fixed value such as 35×45 mm. In the Tool, enter the dimensions shown by the current application guidance.
