Photo requirements
The photo size, format, and background conditions for the application.
- Item 2 of the Study visa document list at the Embassy of Spain in Tokyo requires a recent, passport-size, colour photograph taken against a light background and facing forward, with no dark or reflective glasses and no garments concealing the oval of the face.
- The authority publishes no photo dimensions in millimetres and no photo count. The Tokyo page states only the qualitative "passport-size", with no numeric size, count, recency period, or face measurements. 35×45 mm is the value used for the separate Schengen C (short-stay) visa, not a student visa requirement.
- The study visa is filed directly with the Embassy of Spain in Tokyo. A photograph is required only at the consular stage. Applications must be submitted in person at the Consular Office and an appointment is necessary. The visa fee is an amount equivalent to 80 euros. Each accompanying family member submits the same document set as the student, including the photograph.
