Australia government photo guide

Choose the service and route before preparing a file.

ImmiAccount, Citizenship, ETA, Australian Immi App, ABCC, Passport, and ImmiCard each have their own photo rules.

Independent information and photo-preparation guidance. This is not an Australian government service and does not guarantee acceptance.

What to keep separate

Each service has its own rules

ImmiAccount values are not applied to ETA, apps, citizenship, passport, or ImmiCard.

Separate files

Facial images, documents, citizenship photos, and printed passport photos remain separate.

Managed identity capture

App-managed and in-person capture is separate from an externally prepared JPEG.
