Frequently asked questions

What is the Australia ImmiAccount photo size?

For the ImmiAccount facial image, the official guidance lists JPG, ≥ 70 KB–≤ 3.5 MB, with the face centred within the frame. The official guidance does not specify exact pixels, physical size, background, recency, or how the uploaded image is finally checked.

Can I use the ImmiAccount photo rule for ETA or the Australian Immi App?

No. ETA, the Australian Immi App, and ABCC use app-managed or in-person identity capture; they are not projected to an external prepared JPEG.

What is different about citizenship photos?

Citizenship conferral and descent are separate route variants. For those photos, the official guidance lists JPEG, 1200 × 1600 px (recommended), and ≥ 70 KB–≤ 3.5 MB.

Can I prepare an Australian Passport digital photo?

The public record does not establish an official digital applicant-photo uploader. Australian Passport remains a printed-photo/lodgement route; an official digital applicant-photo uploader is not established.

Is ImmiCard the same as a visa photo?

No. ImmiCard is a separate artifact profile; only some photo details are published, and how uploads are finally checked is not documented.
